Trimo Urban Crash is international competition for students of architecture and design, the challenge for students are to design a simple modular solution witch includes Trimo products and the products from Trimo partners.
The main idea in designing this Bike Base was to create an attractive and functional structure that will also be, on the other side, simple and easy to transport to another place. Two modular units are united as one element presenting a compact rectangular form. Object has to be design and installed so that it offers and provide efficient use of energy. Used solar panels should have been fit into the basic concept so as not to disturb the original idea and the form of the object itself. At the basic constraction of the container, the additional rails for solar panels TrimoEcoSolar PV were added thus allowing reception of solar energy from the south. Slant window that divides the building into two parts gives the whole structure an attractive and recognizable appearance.
The project location where is located Bike Base is on the north artery of Ljubljana called Dunajska cesta. She has a pavement divided into a bike lane and sidewalk on the other side of the street.
